      Don't think of it that way.  Pick Boiler size based on the quantity you want to distill per batch.

      Pick the column size for the RATE you want to distill that batch.  Larger Diameter column will distill more for a given amount of time.

      A  3 or 4 inch column will distill from a 5 gal boiler at the same RATE it distills from a 30 gal boiler, assuming you keep the heater energy/wattage  the same.


      Does anyone have a chart or formula to determine the size of a boiler to produce vapor for 3" or 4" Still?
