        Lets write what we know regarding the problem

        500 ml @ 40% + unknown amount (A) @ 75.5 % = (500 + unknown (A)) @ 48%

        500 X.40 +.755 A = (500 + A) X .48

        Multiply out equations

        200 + .755 A = 240 + .48 A

        (.755 - .48) A = 40

        Solve for A

        A = 145.45 ml.

        Go back to the original equation and see if each side is the same. It should work out.
