etc.) I would not do it. The composition of the glass is much more
important than it's thickness when it comes to tolerating the stress of
heating & cooling.
Chances are they might make it through one run or two, then develop some
stress cracks and simply fall to pieces at later time. Or, they might
shatter during the initial heating process, or when you accidentally slop
cold cooling water on a hot boiler.
I'm usually the first in line to attempt something cheap & dangerous, but
even this goes beyond what I would try in the name of cost savings.
