      Rick is so correct, go and buy the proper containers, they last a very long time if you look after them. Furthermore, don't ever store 80 proof alcohol in these carboys or any other plastic containers for that matter.
      That is of course, if you want to live to a ripe old age.

      These carboys are not designed for fermentation and can give off flavors once you have alcohol in the fermentation. Find yourself some Better Bottle fermenters and you will be much better off.

      These are the blue plastic jugs that are 4 and 5 gallon shaped like carboys and are sold in many stores.

      I put some 80 proof vodka on the outside of the jug to see the effects.

      No effects yet, but it has only been about 1 hour as of this post.
