You are correct but AC units are also a closed, pressurized system
with a pump or compressor to circulate the gas. Not really anything
like a Still that is an open system and relies solely on the amount of
heat applied to the boiler. Apply too much heat and the possibilities
are foaming, pressure build up, over powering the condenser, BOOM,
nasty product and a few more. Good product is usually made as slow
with just enough heat to do the job.
When I build a Still head I deburr, chamfer and sand smooth all inside
joints and transitions. Not that it is necessary but I think it helps.
