Yep, 850mm is a bit on the long side for 1.2 meter column (I assume
that's 1.2m worth of packing) and internal sensor pipe. You could
shorten it to 600mm and gain some speed + ease the ABV problem some.
Ideal sensorpipe diameter is 8mm, so if you can switch to that it'll
help a lot on the ABV issue. 12mm pipe has roughly three times the
volume of 8mm pipe.
