- Mine was somewhat tarnished so I soaked it in vinegar and salt and it
brightened it up nicely. Then rinsed it thoroughly.
It might not have needed it, but it took very little time.

The packing will tarnish, that's normal. As long as it doesn't rust,
obviously that means it's just copper coated. I just clean mine
(still and packing) with hot, soapy water, but some will suggest
cleaning with vinager, definately makes it cleaner. What ever floats
