If you are using the standard 5 to 6.5 gallon plastic fermenters very popular in beer and wine stores, don't forget to take the spigot off and clean it. It is hard to get inside them, but if not cleaned well, mold builds up inside and will come out into your wash. I finally threw one in the trash last week after soap and water, Clorox, Star San and my air compressor would not remove a black speck of something.

Can Polycarbonate (Recycling symbol 7 Other) be used safely
to ferment grain or sugar wash?  This is water jug. I
checked past topics and saw "we do it..." But I
didn't see a real strong answer.  Figured I'd
      toos it out again.
I'd like to try it just so
I can see what's going on inside without having to take
the lid off my 5 gal. I know HDPE is preferred. And
the bucket is easier to clean...
