      "Epidemiology: A Spatial Perspective" is a one day meeting being held to
      discuss the roles of remote sensing, GIS, geostatistics and spatial
      modelling in epidemiology. The meeting will appeal to people with
      specialisms in a diverse range of topics: epidemiology, ecology,
      mathematics, earth observation, medical geography, GIS, public health and
      others. The meeting is to be held on 17th June 2003 at the University of
      Salford


      You are invited to submit abstracts for oral presentations in the following
      sessions:

      Session 1: Spatial prediction of disease
      Session 2: Spatial monitoring of disease
      Session 3: Spatial epidemiology - applications & development

      Deadline for submission of abstracts (EXTENDED!): Friday 2 May 2003

      Abstracts, of between 300-400 words, should be submitted to the Meeting
      Organising Committee by email (A.Graham@...) as a text or pdf file
      (NO WORD FILES, please) or by post (A.Graham, Telford Institute of
      Environmental Systems, Peel Building, University of Salford, Manchester M4
      5WT, UK). The abstract should cover the main points of the paper, including a
      title and summary of key research findings. Contact details of the speaker
      should also be included (address, telephone and email). Papers that
      specifically address the meeting themes are encouraged and will be given
      preference for seminar presentation. Selected papers will be submitted to an
      established journal for publication.

      Notification of acceptance of papers (EXTENDED!): Friday 9 May 2003
      Deadline for submission of full papers: Tuesday 17 June 2003
