      A potential limitation of factorial kriging analysis is the
      assumption that the contribution of each spatial component
      to the total variance is constant in space (i.e. stationarity),
      although for example we might expect the proportion of noise
      to vary across the study area (e.g. for some satellite imagery).
      An approach such as wavelet analysis is then an interesting option,
      see work by R.M. Lark for example the summary paper published in this
      issue of Pedometron
