      What Players Should Know About the Upcoming Volley America Tournaments?

       

      Beach

      1. Coed Doubles Grand Prix: Volley America instituted a $5,000 program last year that awards prize money to the top 15 teams in CAA ($2,500), CA ($1,500) and Coed B ($1.000). Details online at http://www.volleyamerica.com/custom.aspx?id=2
      2. $25,000 Grand Prix for same sex beach doubles. Earn points every week.  Prize money checks sent out at end of season.  Details at http://www.volleyamerica.com/custom.aspx?id=2
      3. Junior tournament schedule: a complete list of Volley America junior doubles tournaments over the next 30 days is now online at http://www.volleyamerica.com/VA-League-Home-Page.aspx.
      4. Dig Magazine is the best magazine for coverage of beach volleyball around the US. You can now get a 1 year subscription for $10 (55% discount) when you renew your Volley America membership. Just click on the Dig Magazine option at the end of the registration and the $10 will be added to your membership fee giving you a full season of great beach volleyball coverage.
      5. VolleyAmerica.com now has regional pages which will show you all tournaments by every VA member organization in the region over the next 30 days. The links are at the bottom of the left hand column and cover:

        4. Carolinas
        5. Florida
        6. Mid-West

      Grass

      1. Men’s and Women’s same sex doubles players are competing for a lion share of $10,000. Prize money breakdown and details at http://www.volleyamerica.com/custom.aspx?id=2
      2. Points are awarded on a tournament to tournament basis.  Every tournament is worth at least 1 point!  Check out http://www.volleyamerica.com/custom.aspx?id=2 for the point system breakdown.

      ·         Select your category (Beach or Grass), then select your division and click “Go”

      ·         Search for your name on the list

      ·         The # to the right represents your Grand Prix Ranking
