PLEASE CIRCULATE - LAFD needs our help

LANCC had a presentation by LAFD Saturday regarding

        COMMUNITY-BASED STRATEGIC PLAN development

LAFD is focused on talking to the Alliances and LANCC as they can't get to individual NCs

They will accept comments upto 20th December - extended from Dec. 1  in order to get more input thru NCs to LAFD

LAFD Requests Input on "COMMUNITY-BASED" Strategic Plan
LAFD - Chief John Drake looking for NC and Community Input.
Community to be included in the LAFD Strategic Plan!

The Los Angeles Fire Department is developing a new, community-driven strategic plan and is teaming up with EmpowerLA to get the word out to members of the community.

The Los Angeles Neighborhood Council Coalition (LANCC) meets with LAFD Chief John Drake and Captain Kristin Crowley present their plan to leaders from all 95 Neighborhood Councils.

The LAFD’s goal is to hear the voice of the community and understand residents’ priorities, expectations, and areas of concern. If you’d like to add your voice to the development of the LAFD Strategic Plan,

        "EXAMPLES" for surveys
Expectations - e.g., response times, preventive rather than suppression/controls, Charges for fires caused by non-compliance

Concerns - e.g.,  lack of brush clearance compliance/enforcements, reassignment of fire code by Bldg.&Safety

Positive Comments/Strengths - CERTs program and community participation

        Others - EMS and back-charges
