The fee is different depending on lot size. Mine are $189. in Cypress Park. $75. in Cypress Park.
      And $67. on Mount Washington.

L.A. COUNTY WANTS TO ADD $54.00 TO YOUR PROPERTY TAXES

Los Angeles County is considering imposing a $54.00 a year tax on property
owners located with the Upper L.A. River Watershed. Atwater Village, along with
other Northeast L.A. communities, is located within that watershed district.

The County sent out non-descript notices earlier in the week explaining proposed
$54 yearly fee. The proposed fee is supposed to fund local and regional projects
to help keep pollution out of stromwater and runoff. If approved the proposed
fee would be collected with the property taxes beginning on the 2013-2014 County
of Los Angeles property tax role.

The notice has a "protest form" if property owners choose to protest it.
Property owners can also write a letter protesting the proposed fee. Letters
should be sent to the: Board of Supervisors at PO Box 866006, Los Angeles, CA
90086. A written protest must identify the parcel address and assessor’s parcel
number, and must be signed by the property owner.

There will also be a public hearing on the proposed fee:

      January 15, 2013 at 9:30am
      Board of Supervisors Hearing Room
      Kenneth Hall of Administration
      500 W. Temple Street
      Los Angeles, CA 90012
