The Notorious Canary Trainers will once again be meeting at the Fitchburg Public Library. For those of you who have forgotten, the library is located at 5530 Lacy Road in Fitchburg. Our meeting will start at 3:00 pm and is scheduled to last until 4:30 pm. All are welcome and guests are encouraged.

Here is a question for all of you. Where did Sherlock like to vacation? He loved the ocean, especially the Copper Beaches. Ta! Dum!

This week we will be discussing the Adventure of the Copper Beeches. The story was first published in Strand Magazine in June 1982. It is the last story in the collection published as The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. It is unique because it is one of the first stories made into a movie. Warner's Features, the beginning of Warner Brothers, produced the movie in 1912 starring George Tre'ville. It didn't win any awards for sound editing.

I have attached a DRAFT schedule for the 2019 case studies in both Word and pdf format.  We can discuss when we meet on Sunday.

      Two things to note.

I have listed the January birthday dinner date as tentative without a location.

Nearly every public library in Dane County is closed on our usual third Sunday meeting date in April due to the Easter holiday with the exception of the downtown Madison Central library.  I have, therefore, scheduled that meeting for the second Sunday in April.  If the group feels that it prefers to meet on the third Sunday and can find a meeting place, I can change the date of that meeting.

This week we will be discussing The Adventure of the Dying Detective. The story was first published in 1913. It is part of the collection published as His Last Bow.

Hopefully everyone has January 6th reserved on their calendar for our annual party to celebrate Sherlock's birthday.
