The Notorious Canary Trainers will be meeting this month on Sunday, September 16th at the Pinney Library. The Pinney Library is located at 204 Cottage Grove Road, near the intersection of Cottage Grove Road and Monona Drive. In November we will again be meeting at the Fitchburg Library. Unfortunately they are having the annual book sale at Pinney Library in October, making their meeting room unavailable. Everyone is asked to come up with possible locations for October 21st.

The month we will be discussing The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle. The story was first published in January 1982. It is often referred to Sherlock Holmes' Christmas story. My first question is, why not publish it in December? My second question is; why carbuncle (a severe abscess or multiple boils in the skin) ? Although a second definition is; a bright red gem, perhaps gem or precious stone would have been a better title.

We will start our meeting at 3:00 pm and should be finished by 4:30 pm. As always guests are welcome.
