Rancheria wins award for work in Smith River
Architectural improvements spurred Smith River Rancheria's win of the Del Norte Pride Award on Saturday during the Crescent City-Del Norte County Chamber of Commerce's annual dinner.
Other award winners included Charlie and Rita Rossini; Chris and Sabina Renner; Chris Howard, and Linda Hartt for various activities related to business advocacy and economic development.
Lisa McKeown, chamber president, kicked off the evening at the Cultural Center by reviewing the Chamber of Commerce's accomplishments and goals. She said the organization met its 2010 goal of increasing membership levels
"Not only were we successful with this goal, but we knocked it out of the park, adding 53 new members," McKeown said. "Our long-term goal is for the chamber to have 600 or more members."
