      Cup: England 28 Fiji 14

Conditions just a bit slippery at times, odd shower, good
playing surface, most games at a furious pace. Can't blame
      conditions for the odd upsets.

Refs obviously under strict instructs about some things -
holding the ball in a tackle, off feet at breakdown, but
consistently harsh against all. Lots of yellow cards, very
hard on high tackles, pro fouls.

Lots of new talent from lots of the teams. England as a
whole played out of their skins and seems to have developed
a couple of excellent 7s specialists, and Menye might be
really something, but Paul was scratchy. Fiji like they
always usually are, some great stuff, some a bit like France
who played like real French sides can (for a change,
apparently, in 7s), and then like *umm* French sides can.
Kiwis just seemed off the boil a bit, rattle-able. Aus self
destructed in the quarter final loss to Fiji, the only game
they even looked like losing, but Tiqiri and Latham
(particularly!) were great. The Argies looked goodish. RSA
were patchy, some goodish stuff, but really blew some
      chances.

Some really good watching (still not *real* rugby though,
      full of bloody backs).
