      The "Future Nano-Materials" COE research base for the development of
      original and specific technology belongs to the most future-oriented
      research division, among the three divisions towards the realization of the
      future plan of the university of Agriculture and Technology in Tokyo, Japan;
      MORE SENSE (Mission Oriented Research and Education giving Synergy in
      Endeavors towards a Sustainable Earth

      "Nano-reactor", "Nano-energy", and "Nano-hyperelectronics" technologies will
      be the strategic core of Nano-technology, and preparation of "Future
      Nano-Materials" is to be investigated through the above-mentioned infinite
      spiral sequence (Nano-design --> Nano-fabrication --> Nano-device).

      (1) The technological base is to be established for the creation of a
      "Nano-reactor" as a highly efficient and selective reaction field for atoms
      and molecules by a technique with atomic-level control.
      (2) Novel electrode materials for the next generation supercapacitors and
      high-capacity secondary batteries are to be designed through nanoscale
      material control in the Nano-energy technology area.
      (3) High-performance nanodevices and their applications are to be developed
      in the "Nano-hyperelectronics" technology area, which enables a high level
      of control over photons, electrons, electron spins, and photon-electron
      interactions. For the promotion of this research, the promotion committee,
      including the president, is designed to prepare positive evaluations and
      collaboration systems.

      Researchers who can make breakthroughs and explore new ideas based on an
      integrated base of knowledge and circulative thinking will be educated
      through an integrated curriculum in the doctoral program.
      A Future Nano-Materials colloquium" as an interdivisional seminar and will
      have an annual "Future Nano-Materials symposium" including lectures by
      top-level researchers. There will also be extensive support programs for
      graduate students and young researchers.
