Group Description

The Polk County Amateur Radio Association is a general interest ham radio club serving Northwest Wisconsin. We operate a VHF repeater on 147.195 (+600 KHz) pl tone 110.9 and a UHF repeater on 443.725 (+5 MHz) pl tone 110.9.

YAESU SYSTEM FUSION is available on our VHF repeater.
YAESU SYSTEM FUSION is available on our UHF repeater.
ECHOLINK Node 991104 is open to all on our VHF repeater.

All licensed amateurs and those interested in ham radio are welcome.

Many of our members participate in annual events such as the ARRL Field Day in June. The use of packet radio is alive and robust in our club. One of our functions is to work with our local county government and provide back-up communications during times of natural disasters. Our region of the US is susceptible to tornadoes and strong thunderstorms during the Spring and Summer months. Weather SKYWARN nets are often called to provide weather spotting reports to the National Weather Service.

We hold a weekly ARES/RACES and general check-in net every Monday evening at 7pm central standard time during the winter months, and 9 pm central daylight time during the summer months on our 2 meter repeater. You are welcome to participate.

Please visit our n9xh.org website for complete membership information and current events.
