Subject: SOS from Little Lea in Belfast

      Please help!

The Belfast Planning Office has received an application to
build "six residential dwellings" at 76 Circular Road: an
address also known as Little Lea, CS Lewis' childhood home.

Those of us who recognize the historical and literary
significance of this Irish home, and its incalculable value to
Belfast's heritage and to the memory of our beloved author,
have until the 4th of May to protest this development
application, and the destruction of Jack Lewis' beloved
house, which is believed to have inspired the setting for the
Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

Devotees of CS Lewis, our saint and scholar, deserve the
opportunity to propose a solution which would preserve
Little Lea for the future, while satisfying the needs of the
current owner, his neighbors, Belfast City, and the
worldwide community of Lewisians. To have this chance, we
      urgently need your help!

Please reply to this e-mail (LittleLea@...), stating
your opposition to Application #0652/0 against 76 Circular
Road - "Little Lea", including your full name and address (at
least city or state, and country) and e-mail address. A
one-sentence protest will do the job, but if you'd like to
express yourself in this case, please do. All replies will be
printed and hand-carried to the Planning Office on Bedford
Street, Belfast, before the May 4th deadline.

Protests may also be sent directly to:
      Planning Office
      First Floor, Bedford House
      Bedford Street

      or faxed to:
      CS Lewis Centenary Group
      c/o Strandtown Press
      8 Thornhill
      Bangor BT19 1RD
      fax #028 9127-4274
(outside UK and Ireland, dial: 011-44-28-9127-4274)

Please forward this message to anyone, or any organization
or list, who may be interested. In case of a prolonged battle
against the developers, EVERY LETTER WILL COUNT.
      Please help.
