Fwd: Human Heights, again
- More evidence on sizes:
> I am fairly certain that I read somewhere that the Roman army made armour
> upon a soldier of 5 feet 4 inches; which is
> pretty short by today's standards, for northern Europe, at least.
> The skeletons recovered from the wreck of the Mary Rose, averaged 5 foot
> which is a shade under the UK average today, but only a shade.
- Thanks for the reference about the armour, that's what we needed!
When did the Mary Rose sink? I guess that's much later in history, so of
course they'd be much closer in size to us...
