      REED COLLEGE -- The Music Department of Reed College seeks to
      fill a one-year position as Visiting Assistant Professor of
      Music. Teaching responsibilities are two one-semester theory
      courses at the second-year level, Baroque Counterpoint (fall
      semester) and Form and Analysis (spring semester); possible
      supervision of senior theses, including theses in composition;
      and two one-semester elective courses which, depending on the
      interests of the instructor, might cover topics in, computers and
      music, jazz, popular music, world music, or film music.
      Conducting responsibilities are to direct rehearsals and
      performances of the Reed Chamber Orchestra, an ensemble of about
      twenty students and community members which rehearses once each
      week and gives a concert each semester, sometimes in conjunction
      with the Reed Chorus. Applicants should have a DMA, PhD, or
      equivalent background in relevant fields and experience in
      undergraduate teaching and in conducting student performers.
      Start Date: Fall 2002. Application deadline: 11/15/2001 or until
