GMA spends first work week of 2009 in Mindanao

DAVAO CITY (MindaNews/04 January) – Mulondo? Where is that?

In Lanao del Sur and that will be the venue of this year's first "full
Cabinet" meeting of the Arroyo administration, the Office of the Press
Secretary (OPS) reported on January 3.

(As of January 4, however, the venue has been moved to the
Macapagal-Macaraeg ancestral house in Timoga, Iligan City).

Ms Arroyo is spending the first work week of 2009 in Mindanao, with at least
10 events lined up for her in six provinces in the northern and western
parts, from Monday to Thursday, January 5 to 8.

The Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) reported that as of January 2, the
President's tentative schedule includes visits to Zamboanga del Sur,
Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Sur, Misamis Oriental, Camiguin and Bukidnon.

The OPS said Ms Arroyo will fly to Pagadian City on Monday, January 5, where
she will be flown by helicopter to Midsalip in Zamboanga del Sur to visit
      the San Jose Parish Church.

The report did not say what the visit is for.

From there the President will proceed to Bonifacio town in Misamis
Occidental to inspect the Salug Irrigation System and then to Sinacaban in
Misamis Occidental to inaugurate the Hatchery of the Eco-Tourism Project of
the Misamis Occidental Aquamarine Park at Dolphin Island.

In the afternoon, she will proceed to Ozamiz City for the inauguration of
the public market there and then to Tangub City for dinner with local
government officials "before gracing the awarding ceremonies of the
city's Christmas Festival Showcase to be capped by a fireworks display."
Tangub City claims to be the "Christmas Capital" of the country.

On Tuesday, January 6, she will grace the inauguration of the Clarin Birdge
in Clarin, Misamis Occidental before flying to Lanao del Sur for the
"full Cabinet meeting" in her ancestral home in Iligan City.

She will spend Wednesday, January 7, in the island province of Camiguin
which is celebrating its 41st foundation anniversary. There, she will
"lead the governance activities before luncheon with local government

Thursday, January 8, "will have mediamen based in northern and western
Mindanao interviewing the President at the Del Monte Lodge in Manolo
Fortich, Bukidnon before she flies back to Manila." (MindaNews)
