      Welcome Back!!

       

      By now you should be settled and ready to start 2008 with a bang! First order of business – there will be a STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS MEETING ON WEDNESDAY, FEBURARY 6TH @ 3 P.M. IN ROOM 210B. This meeting is MANDATORY! A representative must be in attendance from every organization. If not, you will lose your reservations for the next 30 days.

       

       

      The University Student Center & the Office of Student Activities has been working hard!

      Check them out – You can now have your flyers posted electronically!

      Black History Month

      o       Friday, February 1st  - Pick up a free Legacy Magazine at the USC Information Desk

       

      o       Wednesday, February 6thOrganizations Day: Wear paraphernalia representing your organization. Black organizations were the catalyst to many of the movements that aided in improving the overall lives of African Americans.

       

      o       Wednesday, February 13thMorgan: We are the Bears! - Wear Morgan paraphernalia to celebrate our illustrious heritage and to honor those Morganites who paved the way for all of us to be here today.

       

      o        February 12-14 - “Shades of Black: A Thought in Progress” a play sponsored by ORL (USC Theatre)

       

      o        

      The James E. Lewis Museum of Art proudly presents EPOCH: The Legacy & Influence of Six Morgan Alumni. The exhibition runs from February 2 through March 1, and celebrates more than 50 years of visual arts education at Morgan State University . The exhibit features the work of:

       

      • Randall Craig (Class of 1955)

      • Reva Goodwin Lewie (1956)

      • Robert Reed (1958)

      • Virginia Evans Smit (1958)

      • Lawrence Sykes (1955)

      • Jack White (1958)

       

      EPOCH presents over fifty works by these artists and includes a diverse range of sculptures, paintings, photographs, drawings, prints and portraits in mixed media.

       

      o       Morgan State 7th Annual African Film Festival

      The Morgan State University Departments of African Studies and Geography and History present the seventh annual African Film Festival on February 12-14, 2008 in room 101 of the University’s New Communications Center . Viewings on February 12th and 13th begin at 5:00 pm and on February 14th at 11:00 a.m. This event is free and open to the public.
