MIMITAH rightfully claimed the Best New UK Talent title in 2009’s African Music Awards. Born in DR Congo and raised in East London, Mimitah has created COWO: "Congo meets World" - power-packed Congolese music infused with London and worldwide sounds.

A fine singer with gospel and r’n’b experience as well as Congolese, Mimitah also tours as Kanda Bongo Man’s brilliant dancer. She supports a number of .charitable and self help organisations.including Woman For Woman and this event highlights their work empowering assaulted Congolese women
with their Women’s Run For Congo. It is also DRC's 50th anniversary of independence this year.

Mimitah’s Tata Muasi is played worldwide and tonight she will perform this and other great titles with her full on band previewing her debut album. This is Part 4 of the WOM@ & Carnival Village Best of British Season and Mimitah will receive an award

"Wom@ nights have such an amazing energy, it is the type of night that makes you want to go back again and again- both the people and the music are wonderful! "
