La Lupe:  La Ultima Bendicion de la Yi Yi Yi COMING SOON TO WEPAwebTV

Part of our Special Salsa Legends Series produced in conjunction with Tony Ortiz ((Top Production) WEPAwebTV is preparing a special screening of legendary Salsa singer La Lupe's final performance in 1988. Originally from Santiago, Cuba, La Lupe moved to New York City in the early 1960s, where she recorded with Tito Puente and other legends of salsa music. She passed away in 1992. Known to many as the Latina Judy Garland due to her strong voice, torrid love affairs, drug problems, poor financial management and large gay following. Considered to be one of the top female stars in Latin music ever, and her song "Puro Teatro" went platinum after being used in the international hit by Spanish director Pedro Almodovar "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown."
