One of the successes of the 2010 festival was the Naija Groove Session that blew the roof off the Stratford Circus. For this year’s festival Naija Groove sees the Naija Rhythms Orchestra, lead by guitarist Kunle Olasoju, joining forces with tenor saxophonist Bukky Leo, Afro-soul singer Ayinke Martins and roots singer Diya Ojo for a full Naija dance music workout. They combine Nigerian traditional rhythms with modern influences like afrobeat, juju, fuji, hi-life and funky rhythms to create hypnotic dance grooves from Africa’s most populous nation.
