Please share this opportunity with others.
Colorado State University has recently received funding from the United States Department of Defense, Office of Military Community & Family Policy and the Department of Agriculture/National Institute of Food & Agriculture to run a series of mindfulness based adventure camps for teens aged 14-18 from military families. The Rocky Mountain Adventure Camp at Pingree Park is a 4-day, 3-night residential camp experience providing a variety of experiences in the great outdoors of Colorado. The purpose of the camp is to enhance positive life skills, environmental stewardship, and mental and physical fitness. Camp activities include outdoor adventures (challenge ropes course, alpine hike/peak ascent, geo-caching, white water rafting) and the concept and practice of mindfulness, i.e., the ability to attend to the present moment. Colorado State University’s Pingree Park is a comfortable campus located in a pristine mountain environment at an elevation of 9,000 feet, 50 miles outside of Fort Collins, Colorado. http://www.housing.colostate.edu/pingree/home.htm
