Slavic Linguistics Society

We invite you to submit an abstract to the second meeting of the Slavic Linguistics Society, taking place in Berlin in August 22�26, 2007.
Papers dealing with any aspect of Slavic linguistics and within any framework are appropriate, as well as those that represent cross-disciplinary approaches. The only restriction is that all papers should address an issue pertaining to Slavic linguistics. All talks are for 20 minutes, plus 10 minutes for discussion. Two central conference topics are Languages in Contact and Sorbian Linguistics. Beside the main programme, 4 workshops are planned to be organized additionally, about Computational Linguistics, Language Acquisition, Slavic Phonology and Slavic Literature, with details to be found soon on the conference webpage.
Like the 1st meeting in Bloomington last year, this is going to be an historic and great event again. Please, don�t hesitate to send your abstracts! We encourage all to participate and ask you to share this announcement with as many colleagues and students as possible.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS: Please send your abstract to dvorak@...-berlin.de by May 1. 2007. The attached submissions should be anonymous and no more than one page long (or at most two pages, including the references and examples) and they should be electronically sent in both MicrosoftWord (.doc) and pdf formats (12-point type, containing only Unicode fonts, if at all possible). Please entitle your submitting e-mail as Abstract SLS 2007 and add the following information in the body of the message:
1) Name of the author(s); 2) Affiliation of the author(s); 3) Contact e-mail address(es); 4) Posting address(es); 5) Phone number(s); 6) Title of the Abstract
Abstracts for one single and one co-authored paper may be submitted by one individual.
As appropriate, identify the framework, describe the methodology, explain how data will be analyzed�in other words, please be as concrete and specific as possible in describing your paper.
The abstracts will be refereed and participants should be notified by early June 2007.
