Job: Post doctor in Slavic languages - Russian
Fully-funded appointment for two years, starting date July 1st.
Duties: The successful candidate will join the research group led by Ingrid Maier and comprising scholars from Sweden, Russia and the US. He/she is expected to take part in the combined research and editorial project about 17th-century translations of West-European newspapers into Russian (mostly from German and Dutch). Teaching, up to 20 %, may be included.
Qualifications: Applicants should have a doctoral exam no older than three years in either Russian or in Slavic languages, with a special focus on the history of the Russian language. An excellent knowledge of Russian (and more specifically 17th-century Russian), a very good knowledge of German and/or Dutch, and competence in Russian paleography is a requirement for the position; some experience in transcribing Russian handwritten documents from the 17th century is advantageous.
