      Hello MSC Sailors,

      Here is our “Month-at-a-Glance” for September, 2006.
      See “Details” below for more information on the
      various events. Be sure to check out the “Sail for the
      Grail” Flying Scot regatta.

      VOLUNTEER: Ten Volunteers wanted on Sunday 10th
      September to assemble the new dock extension for Watts
      Bay. Help will be needed in the following areas:
      - Transport components from Gibsonia to Watts Bay.
      - Assemble components
      - Supply and use wrenches to tighten lots of 1/2" nuts
      and bolts
      - Drill holes and drive lag screw to fasten floatation
      tanks
      - Drill holes and fasten deck boards with deck screws
      - Ooomph to turn the dock extension over
      Please let John Bridges know if you can help so that
      we have enough but not too many volunteers. 724 625

      after the Sail-for-the-Grail regatta race finishes.

      Learn To Sail is open to all MSC members and runs from
      10am to 3pm, lunch around noon (please bring a lunch).

      SAT, SEP 9 10:30 AM REGULAR SERIES RACE.
      Regular Series races are open to all MSC Racing and
      Community Sailing members. Skipper’s meeting at 10am.
      Race start at 10:30am.

      SUN, SEP 10, 10AM, LEARN-TO-SAIL
      Learn To Sail is open to all MSC members and runs from
      10am to 3pm, lunch around noon (please bring a lunch).

      SAT & SUN, SEP 16-17. “SAIL FOR THE GRAIL” FLYING
      SCOT REGATTA
      Up to 5 races over 2 days with 3 races on Saturday and
      2 on Sunday. The last race on Sunday may be a
      Bridge-to-Bridge race. Two divisions: Championship
      Division is part of the Flying Scot Ohio District
      Series. There will be a Challenger Division for newer
      skippers if at least 5 boats sign up by the early
      registration date of September 7, 2006. We hope to see
      CSP and Racing members who have been participating in
      learn-to-race in the Challenger division at this fun
      weekend. For registration information, race start
      times, festivities, etc., see:

      SUN, SEP 17, APPROXIMATELY 1pm, MSC PICNIC.
      MSC members are invited to join the Flying Scot
      Regatta participants for a picnic lunch. You must RSVP
      to Mary Campbell <bgcamp@...> by Sep 7 (we
      will have out-of-town guests from other sailing clubs
      and need to have an accurate estimate of numbers) and
      bring a side-dish to share. The FS Fleet 80 and the
      Club will be providing hamburgers, hot dogs, sausages
      (Uncle Charley's!), sodas and dessert. We need 4-6
      people to help with set-up, grilling and take-down
      (Volunteer when you RSVP to bgcamp@...).
      If you have camp chairs and tables, please bring them.

      SAT, SEP 30, 10:30 AM PHRF REGATTA
      An open regatta for all MSC Racing and Community
      Sailing members. Skipper’s meeting at 10am. Race start
      at 10:30am. Races will be scored using Portsmouth
      Handicap (PHRF). Trophies will be given for this day’s
      events.
