Group Description

Hikers were once able to hike the south side of the Mohican River between the covered bridge and the Pleasant Hill Dam without going to the falls. An extremely steep portion of the trail had a cable. The cable was removed a number of years ago and the two bridges that led to the trail were later washed out. The trail has been closed for about 5 years. In September of 2013 ODNR secured funds to rebuild the bridges. The Mohican Trails Club cutting a trail involving a series of switch backs where the cable was removed and they are rebuilding the bridge. Once completed, the scrap from the old bridges will be removed and the trail blazed and signage installed. Planned reopening date of the trail is December 2013. Hikers will also be able to use this as a loop trail pass the falls and back to the covered bridge or the dam.
