Communications & Development Manager
Center for Civic Participation
Effective March 1, 2005.
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the
following. Working in conjunction with Center staff to:
Collect, process and maintain funder information and foundation
guidelines in an extensive fundraising database and file system;
Prepare timely reports on pending grants, proposal and report
deadlines, and other fundraising deadlines;
Assist in the production and maintenance of all grant application and
Work with the Executive Director, Center staff, the President and other
program or project leaders to ensure timely responses to fundraising
deadlines, opportunities and grant obligation fulfillment;
Assist in writing, editing, packaging and sending letters of inquiry,
grant reports, and grant requests;
Research potential funding sources through library, internet and
Manage and coordinate individual donor files, database and mailings;
Support the production and distribution of marketing materials;
Support the management of the Center’s fiscal agency program for small
Process donations and acknowledgements;
Assist in organizing fundraising events; and
Assist with general administrative tasks and other assignments as
The Executive Director supervises the Communications & Development
Minimum of five years administrative experience required.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
Well-organized, self-motivated, self-starter (important).
Excellent research skills required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
Candidates must possess word processing and database skills.
Ability to work with diverse groups of people required.
Experience in developing outreach materials preferred.
Experience in organizing events preferred.
Grantwriting and fundraising experience preferred.
Media, public relations, and graphic presentation skills preferred.
This is a full-time position.
The Center for Civic Participation is a 501c3 non-profit organization,

Compensation, Benefits and Background
Compensation for this position will be based upon experience.
The Center provides full health insurance benefits, dental insurance,
