The Miller-Motte College paralegal graduate is a skilled professional who is eligible after satisfactory achievement of an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies to apply and sit for an exam to be a North Carolina Certified Paralegal (NCCP)> Seven out of ten paralegals will work for law firms; others will work for corporate legal departments, government organizations, and courts. The tasks of a paralegal will vary widely according to the type organizations for which they work and the size of the organization. Working under the supervision of an attorney, paralegals will generally maintain client files, draft correspondence and legal pleadings, conduct factual research, document review, assist attorneys with trial preparation, and more.
