      It is hard to believe that August is right around the corner. The Summer is just about done, and there are still plenty of Road Runs to visit before the deadline comes. Please remember that all road runs sheets need to be turned into me by August 17th. If you have questions about how to turn them in, please feel free to contact me anytime. Now, onto the events!!
       
      July 31st - August 4th
       
      Bemidji Beltrami County Fair Beer Garden
      Location: County Fair Grounds
      Time: 3 pm - Close  Sunday 10:00 am
       
      The Bemidji Jaycees are serving beer for the Beltrami County Fair and could really use your help. If you are interested in helping out, please contact RandiSu Tanem at 218-766-8346.
       
      August 1st - August 3rd
       
      Derby Days Beer Pouring
      Location: Huber Park, Shakopee
      Time: Thurs. 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm Fri. 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm Sat. 11:00 am - Midnight
       
      The Shakopee Jaycees are looking for volunteers to come out and help pour beer.       Pipestone County Fair
      Location: County Fair Grounds Pipestone, MN
      Time: 3 pm
       
      The Pipestone Jaycees will have a location in the "Dugout" please stop by anytime to say hi or help out. On Saturday please join them in a Jaycees Bean Bag Tournament at 3:00 pm.       August 1st - 4th
       
      Giant Celebration Teen Dance & Giant Days
      Location: Legion Park Le Sueur, MN (Dance) Giant Days (park by HS)
      Time: 7:30 pm - 11:30 pm
       
      The Le Sueur Jaycees are hosting a Free dance for teens grade 6th - 12th. Bring your kids out and they will enjoy a night of music with Subtle Vibes from 7:30-8:30 & Music in Motion from 8:30-11:30. The summer is all most over, and I'm sure the kids would love to get out and enjoy some live music and fun with their friends. For more information please visit https://www.facebook.com/events/158993687619901/.  The Le Sueur Jaycees are looking for manpower to help run this event along with their entire weekend event. They could really use your help and would appreciate anything. For Thurs set up they will need 3-8 volunteers, and 4 to help manpower the dance. Friday night from  5 pm -  8 pm, they could us about 6 individuals, and from 8 pm to midnight they are looking for about 10 people yet. Saturday from 10am to 5pm they need 2 people. And from 5 - 8 they need 4 individuals, and then from 8 pm - 1:30 am they are in need of about 10 people. Sunday from  10am-1:30 pm they are looking for about 10 people for Parade setup.       Rollingstone Days 2013
       
      The Rollingstone Jaycees have a ton of activities on the schedule for Rollingstone Days. Starting on Friday there is Softball at 6 pm. Kids Games from 7:30 pm - 9 pm. Karaoke, for all you singers out there, 8 pm - 11 pm. And to end the night off with a bang, there will be fireworks at 9:30 pm. Than on Saturday they start the day off with a Cancer Walk/Run, registration starts at 7:30 am walk begins at 8 am. This will be held in a new location. It will be at Rollingstone City Park. Softball at 8 am, vendors/crafters from 9 am - 3 pm, Luxembourg Museum Art Show/Sale from 9 am - 4 pm. Kids games again from 12 pm - 3 pm. Bingo will be held in the Park Pavilion from 1 pm - 3 pm. And to end the wonderful weekend there will be a street dance on Main St. from 8:30 pm - 12:30 am. music band featured is Hallowed Ground.

      Saint Peter Jaycees Meeting
      Location: Nicollet County Fairgrounds Beer Stand
      Time: 6 pm
       
      Meetings are open to the public, and anyone is welcome. Matt Spindler will be firing up the grill for some burgers and brats afterwards, if you are interested in joining, please feel free to bring a side dish.
       
       
      August 2nd
       
      Mankato Punt Pass and Kick
      Location: Blakeslee Stadium Mankato, MN MSU Mankato College Campus-Vikings Training Camp
      Time: 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
       
      Volunteers are needed to help with both registration and the on-field running of the Punt Pass Kick event. The Mankato Jaycees would like to have 5 volunteers to help at registration beginning at 4:00 p.m. and 15-20 to help shag footballs and shuffle kids around for the actual event, starting at 6 p.m. Those volunteers need to check in by 5:15.       Relay for Life Stillwater
      Location: Stillwater Area High School 5701 Stillwater Blvd N, Stillwater, MN
      Time: Fri 6:00 pm - Sat 12:00 pm
       
       This year the Relay will be 18 hours and the Lake Elmo Jaycees only ask you to sign up and just stop by walk the track and check things out,  no need to stay the whole 18 hours. They will have tent and a space set up for their team, kind of like a campout.       Pictorial Scavenger Hunt and Social
      Location: 4722 Blanding Ct Big Lake
      Time: 5 pm - 9 pm
       
      Come out for the Big Lake Jaycees 2nd Annual Scavenger Hunt! Bring your digital camera and a dish to share. There will be a potluck dinner starting at 5pm with the hunt to start at 7pm.

      Big Bill$ Lil' Rubber Duckie Race
      There is still time to adopt a duckie for just $5!
      3rd annual race is scheduled for Saturday, August 3rd at 4:00pm with over 5,000 little rubber duckies set to launch into the Mississippi river from the Laurel Street bridge.       Hanover Harvest Festival Parade is this Saturday!  The Northwest Area Jaycees are in need of some volunteers to help Friday night 7-8pm to set up the float and again on Saturday morning to walk/ride the parade route to promote Corcoran Country Daze!       The Sauk Rapids Jaycees and the St. Cloud Jaycees are still looking for volunteers to help with the concessions at the Benton County Fair. There are shifts that are available or if you are able to come and help out for a little bit that is appreciated as well.       South Saint Paul Relay for Life
      Location: Lincoln Center Elementary School
      Time: 6 pm set up 7 pm ceremony
       
      When the South Saint Paul Jaycees are not running or walking they will be playing lawn games, selling food to other walkers as a fundraiser or simply just hanging out with other Relay for Lifers. Feel free to stop on by and show your support for cancer survivors and help raise money for cancer research.
       
      Lets Bar-B-Q Fundraiser

There are many activities going on, such as kids games, bean bag and volleyball tournaments. And new this year is the City vs Jaycees Game. Come out and cheer for the Lake Elmo Jaycees as they face the City in a fun game of Softball.       Annual Rib Throw Down Fundraiser
      Location: Ren Fest 12364 Chestnut Blvd, Shakopee, MN

      This is a Pot Luck style fundraiser with a $5 per person donation to be held after the Ale Tenders Meeting. All the money raised will go a charity to be named later. The Shakopee Jaycees are looking for 5-6 people to compete in a BBQ Rib challenge. The chapter will supply the ribs for the competition. Our State President Kris Wilke has agreed to be one of the judges for the event.       I know there are a lot of events going on, and I hope to see many of them on your road run sheets when they are submitted. It has been a full summer and I look forward to the Fall months to come! Have fun getting out and visiting chapters and helping out with events. I really hope you have met a lot of new Jaycees, and don't forget to register for Convention! There will be a full schedule of trainings and fun things to do.
