      Subject: 2007 Competition

I should have given more information about this, especially for the benefit
      of non-MBS members.

Each year the Miniature Book Society sponsors a competition and exhibition.
It is open to all, members and non members.

Entries are due by May 15, 2007.

To qualify the books and the slipcases or portfolio boxes must measure no
more than three inches in any dimension (binding size); must have been
published in a multiple copy edition (one of a kind books are not
eligible); and must have been published within the past two years
(2005-2007). A maximum of two entries per press and/or person is allowed.

A jury of three professionals representing different interests in the book
arts will be charged to select three entries which best reflect
creativity, design, personal appeal and technical excellence.

A Distinguished Book Award will be given to the top three books selected by
the judges. The winners will be announced at the MBS conclave, which is
expected to take place in Seattle in October.

All entrants, judges and mbs members will receive a copy of a color
      catalog.

The three winning entrants will become the property of the MBS. All of the
entries will be part of a travelling exhibit for a year, after which the
non-winning entrants will be returned if wished.

More information and a copy of the entry form is available on the MBS
website (www.mbs.org). The entry form, and answers to any questions, are
also available from the Chair of the Exhibition Committee, Neale M. Albert,
815 Park Avenue, NY, NY 20021.
