      Is the clamping ability of metric ER32 collets on imperial sizes significantly reduced? In other words will a 13mm collet clamp a 1/2" shank significantly worse than a 1/2" collet?

      The clamping range on ER s is generous, so this is fine. Also, the dirty little secret is that often you are getting a metric collet with inch markings anyway
