Somehow the skills involved in crafting a complete chuck seem much higher than the skill to turn a face plate. So, yes, I'd say "improved significantly." :D
I was also considering the use of MTx chucks for tail-stock use.
One disadvantage that I see for use in a rotary table is the ER collets need to have the material fully seated or they don't grip properly.
