      The joint project between the Irish and Canadian governments to put the 1911 Census of Ireland online is proceeding well with nine counties now complete. Especially interesting to military buffs are the records for Cork and Dublin since these contain the records for great military establishments in these cities.

      A sample of what's there can be seen by choosing Cork from the dropdown county box, putting Victoria Barracksin the Townland/Street field and putting Cork in the DED field. The search result will show the occupants of a section of the Barracks. Military and Police establishments did not use the same return type as the civilian. But clicking on Barrack Return (Form H) at from the 'View census images' at the foot of the table will take you to the digitized image of Form H.
