Just last night, I finished reading Button Down by Anne Ylvisaker with a satisfied sigh. I wrote a review today for abookandahug.com and the more I contemplated the story and reread most of it, the more I fell in love. I adored The Luck of the Buttons (2010) and this is a companion to it, not a requirement to enjoying Button Down. Both are gentle, under-the-radar reads that would make great read-alouds.

The last non-fiction I read that I liked was The Mighty Mars Rovers by Elizabeth Rush, but I just received The Impossible REscue by Martin W. Sandler for review and am looking forward to reading that.

Of these titles, a standout middle school pick would be Drama by Raina Telgemeier: A must-have for anyone and everyone who loves any one of the following: the theatre; graphic novel with colors that pop; a great story.
