Have a great day!
Grace and peace,
The University of Maine's department of Physics and Astronomy has organized a summer camp perfect for the future scientists and astronomers of tomorrow!
At Physics Camp your child can see energy in action, learn about the planets in our Universe, use a real full-size telescope, and much more at this exciting and educational camp located at the University of Maine.
See energy in action, in the lab and in the natural world! Campers will observe the ways that energy transforms itself and the environment around us. Activities will include both classroom demonstrations and exploration of alternative energy around the University.
Give your children a chance to join researchers from the University of Maine's Physics and Astronomy Department in an exploration of the Maine night sky, and the history of rocketry!
Campers will utilize a variety of facilities at the University of Maine to explore the universe. There will also be telescope viewing sessions at the Maynard F. Jordan Observatory that will teach telescope operation.
There will be two groups, one ages 6-9 and another for ages 10-14 for both Space Camp and Energy Theater. Camp will run from June 27-July 1, July 11-15, and July 25-29. For more information about Physics Camp, visit their website (http://www.physics.umaine.edu/SummerCamp/Index.html)or call (207) 581-1015.
