  • Obviously old computers are entrenched all over the place in manufacturing and scientific monitoring, etc. but it's just cool when you actually see it in action. I was just watching an episode of How It's Made (which episode is up to debate.. the episode number this segment is in seems to vary..) and there is a segment on manufacturing of Player Piano Rolls..and their manufacturing...

  • So, the question is, is there any sort of web interface for mailman lists besides just viewing the archive? I'm another who is a drive-by participant and occasional contributor. I'm a big oldtimer who loves my majordomo, etc. mailing lists as much as the next guy, but not when I'm not able or going to participate all the time. i also hate the separate passwords for each mailing...

  • Greetings, I was browsing the Facebook MARCH page pictures and it occurred to me seeing similar things... I have an old Magnavox Odyssey 100 in box that I was planning on putting on ebay, I should give y'all first dibs on it instead! It currently resides in South Jersey Burlington County area. I'm open to doing trades, or whatever. However, I'm mostly interested in newer technology...

  • Greetings, Ok, they're not computers, but I figure someone affiliated with the group, or someone one of you might know would be interested in these power tool repair manuals about 15-20 minutes away from Infoage.. I saw them listed before, and honestly I'm surprised someone didn't snap them up yet. I'm not near there, so I can't get them myself.. Repair any Power Tool w/ these...

  • If it's not blatantly obvious, even listings for overpriced items are a good opportunity for MARCH to introduce itself. Who knows, maybe he would be willing to donate one (or more), or might even be interested in joining and/or visiting. Even if it doesn't happen quickly, it might happen eventually.. Also, where one finds 6 Altair items, it is likely there are likely to be more...

  • How about, if you don't already do this, with each rental and/or sale we include a list of folks who would choose to be on that list who would be willing to consult on technical details? Include a paragraph or two of intro. Perhaps ask the film boards which I previously listed the best way of phrasing this sort of thing so it might better encourage them to engage the experts and...

  • Greetings, A little off-topic but I am not in touch with all the groups at InfoAge. On CL a collection of American Scientist Magazines from 1971 to 2010 is listed free at http://newjersey.craigslist.org/zip/4428675654.html it seems to me that that's a good archive that would be a great addition to any library or archive for one or more of the groups. Please note this is not mine...

  • Is anybody interested in a Sharp TM-20 ? Here's a link to amazon to explain what it is: http://www.amazon.com/Sharp-TM-20-TelMail-E-Mail-Organizer/dp/B00000J4G5 I recently saw one of these at a local store in the box, and looking like it was complete... I didn't check everything at the time, so I'm not 100% sure. I had never seen anything like it, so I went home and looked it up...

  • I don't know what they're going to do with them, but Marion Stokes had collected 192 vintage Macintoshes and lots of things related to them. There is a little mention in this article: http://www.fastcompany.com/3022022/the-incredible-story-of-marion-stokes-who-single-handedly-taped-35-years-of-tv-news and here: http://articles.philly.com/2012-12-21/news/35955478_1_television-show...
