RE: [midatlanticretro] HOPE demo - back on !!!
You can find free parking but not around The Pennsylvania Hotel. if you go up into Hells Kitchen around 40th to 54th between 9th Ave to 11th Ave, you can find parking.
What you may want to do it team it up, drop off your stuff and send someone to find parking.

I bring a small MAME setup to run off of a laptop. Hacking and old computers are both relevant to this
I've been working on a project that's about halfway done. Now, prepare for my BS on how it relates to vintage computing AND hacking. BS ALERT. BS ALERT. DUCK AND COVER, BS ALERT.
My project not only shows hacking, but also how analog logic and digital logic can work together in harmony. END BS ALERT. I've been working on transforming an electromechanical pinball machine playfield to score and sound on a computer. I've gotten an old playing field, rigged all scoring switches to computer keyboard switches, and gotten proper power flowing to the solenoids and relays to make the flippers flip, the pop bumpers pop, and the lights light. Now its just a matter of programming the score keeper. I'm using an AT keyboard, so it could conceivably work with an IBM PC/XT/AT. At first I was going to use VB, but I think plain old BASIC will work just as well.On Sun, Jul 6, 2008 at 11:23 PM, Joe Giliberti <starbase89@gmail. com> wrote:

Good plans, Bill!
I have no idea what to bring (other than MARCH flyers) especially if I'm
train-bound (Miatas and NYC driving don't mix.)
Perhaps our Apple //c -- it's small. But not terribly interesting. ..
Obviously I would love to bring our Altair. But nervous about transporting
that, especially on the train and up and down the escalator at Penn
I'm even going to JOKE about bringing the PDP-8. :)
Bill, you always have good ideas, what obvious choice(s) from the museum am
I forgetting?? ?

If the parts I need arrive in time, a UNIX PC by AT&T with a copy of the
banned 911 docs described in "The Hacker Crackdown" book.
If they don't I have no idea, but it will be "vintage hacker" related. I
am going to try for a relevant to both HOPE and vintage computing theme, we
Here's a fall back plan - vintage techniques for making backup copies of
copy protected software.
