info on Amiga 2000 products from Great Valley Products
- Someone has asked me if the 64-pin SIMM memory sticks on a GVP memory
card for the Amiga 2000, is the same memory as used in Apple's
Macintosh IIfx. The "sticks" look similar, but apprently GVP
deilberately made their SIMMs proprietary out of greed. True, or not?

They look similar but are not compatible. You're correct in that GVP did this so people wouldn't use what were commonly available inexpensively at the time 30 pin simms. There is a hack available to use standard 72 pin simms : http://aminet.net/package/docs/hard/gvpsim64
