      No need for simplex.  Just use the DVRA 146.67 MHz (-600, PL 131.8) repeater which is about two miles away.  If you want, you can then select a simplex frequency after making a contact.  Just avoid 147.57 which will probably be used for the Mercer County March of Dimes Walkathon on Sunday.
       
      The DVRA will be setting up a Ham Radio Info booth and running a VE session at TCF on Saturday so using their repeater will get a lot more response from the local hams as well..  I'll be there on Saturday running a separate Computer Merit Badge event for the Boy Scouts.
