Cromemco System Three Update
- After three long years of searching I finally found a PerSci 299 disk drive
to install in my Cromemco System Three computer. It's "brand new", even
has the original restraining rubber to hold the head in place.
Plugged it in, turned on the computer, drive started to smoke. Actually it
was just a resistor that popped...And now the fun begins.
This is my "maybe also bringing" system for VCF E. It's one of those
computers-built-into-a-desk systems. I have already confirmed that it
works with other types of drives, but I really want to be able to demo the
disk auto-eject button feature of the PerSci. Also, the PerSci 299 was one
of the fastest drives of its day.
