TodayMARCH booth at HOPE was our third time, and definitely the best one!
I got there at 7:30 followed by Bill Deg., Jeff J., Jon C. (System Glitch), Steve, Frank, Sridhar, and Ethan. 2600's BernieS also brought a demo (Telstra Pong) which he donated to us.
David Ahl also joined us and we had a brief visit from Crunch.
Our booth was PACKED with visitors from 9am-8pm -- there really wasn't any slow time! Several visitors promised us various hardware donations; I'll follow up on those. And more than in the past, several visitors already knew about our club and VCF.
Best of all, everyone we met today was impressed! We were in a high-foot-traffic area and virtually everyone who walked by stopped to check us out.
As we said on email earlier, Bill and I had a successful lecture. Way more people than I've ever spoken to before. We pulled it off smoothly, alternating between our expertise on various slides, as if we'd actually practiced (we didn't -- we just knew our material very well.)
Crunch himself was in the audience and later told us we did well. Quite a compliment considering it was a computer history talk and he lived much of it!
Special thanks to Systems Glitch for helping me schlep my heavy suitcase and the 11/05 back to the train tonight.
We also met many old and new friends in other clubs, etc.
Tomorrow I'm sleeping very late! Probably not going to the museum, but who knows....
Soon we can start preparing for our next event, Maker Faire NYC, in late September.
