I contacted Dave about the VAX and he said I can pickup the machine. One problem, his IT folks over there has created a sticky situation. Dave had already taken apart the complete system with the disk array of RA80's, and now IT says that the drives still have proprietary info on them. Don't ask me where were the IT folks before Dave took it apart (probably doing another Windows server patch update). Now the IT folks said the RA80's have to be destroyed. And there not in the mood to connect the system together again. Dave said I can take the RA80s if I setup the machines over here to let him wipe the files first. That's where I am at the moment, so it shouldn't be a problem to get this sorted out. There are some other peripherals available too, such as a tape drive, IO Processors and some more. I might have to make 2 trips. I'll keep you posted.

      Hi Evan,

I'm not interested in the VAX but I can pickup the machine for you and the museum. All I have is a caravan, so I'll talk to him to see how many of the RA80 drives I can fit in there too without the wheels bottomed out. I don't plan on getting out there until VCF east, so I hope that's not a problem.

      wish me luck,

Maybe you can rescue it and bring it to our NJ museum someday. :)
