Singled out by The New York Times as "the most striking group at
Globalfest 2008," experience the feverish, percussive harmonies of
LO COR DE LA PLANA, the French a cappella ensemble making their DC
Area debut on FRIDAY (8:00pm), APRIL 3, 2009, at the Rosslyn
Spectrum Theatre, 1611 North Kent St., Arlington, Virginia. Check
      out two clips from YouTube:

The intensely percussive music reflects France's obscure Occitan
dialect, a language unique to France's Provence region, and
influenced rhythmically by immigrants from former French colonies in
the Caribbean and North Africa. Le Monde praised their "fervent
chants reinvested with a mad energy and a singular, heady power".
