There isn't much happening here, but the back side of the sun is going
to beat the band! SOHO satellite helioseismic analysis shows that
sunspot region 720 is holding together, although it looks a bit
smaller than it once did. More interesting is a new, large sunspot
region that has sprung up close to region 720. One of them fired off
a big CME. It was directed away from Earth, but was nonetheless
impressive. It will be very interesting to see what rotates into view
in about a week or so. There is a coronal hole that is rotating into
an Earth-pointing position. Most of it lies in the sun's northern
hemisphere, but we could still see some solar wind gusts from it along
      about the 8th.

The current solar and geomagnetic conditions are :

      NOAA sunspot number : 23
      SFI : 83
      A index : 9
      K index : 0

      Solar wind speed : 483.6 km/sec
      Solar wind density : 0.8 protons/cc
Solar wind pressure : 0.3 nPa

      IMF : 5.5 nT
IMF Orientation : 2.8 nT North

      GOES-12 Background X-ray Flux level : A7

Conditions for the last 24 hours :
No space weather storms were observed for the past 24 hours.

Forecast for the next 24 hours :
No space weather storms are expected for the next 24 hours.

      Solar activity forecast :
Solar activity is expected to be very low to low. Activity levels are
expected to increase as active regions rotate into view over the next
      three days.

      Geomagnetic activity forecast :
The geomagnetic field is expected to be quiet to unsettled with
      isolated active periods.

Recent significant solar flare activity :
      None
